This Fusion is one of the 'clipless' designs with the 'Wicked Lasers' logo in gold near one end. It produces a good round
spot with very little scatter.
Apart from rapidly dropping in power from the moment it is switched on, it produces a stable output without noticable
mode-hopping.
Divergence is good, although unmeasured.
The light just seems to pour out of the aperture of this laser.
When first powered up there is often a momentary spike of about 130-140mw, then readings will go from 110mw to below
80mw in less than 60 seconds (the duty-cycle run-time of a Fusion).
If this Fusion is then powered back up, whilst still warm, it has difficulty in managing greater than 100mw and subsequent
uses will lower the overall output.
This Fusion doesn't like being warm. Even if I hold it in my hand for a while before use, it's often enough to reduce
the high-end of the power-curve from 110mw to 90mw and the low end has been seen at 40mw during repeated use.
This laser, because of the requirement of duty-cycle, rarely gets used in photography. Sometimes, it will be added to
a scene for a few frames during a shoot but generally, scenes are constructed without reliance on the Fusion.
More than anything, this laser is a yard-stick. It is the standard by which I judge other lasers.
